Thank You

Thank you to everyone who got involved in the Castle Vale Community Games. Your support and participation ensured that they were a great

success.  Jump onto the podium and award yourselves a gold medal.

Welcome to the Castle Vale Community Games 2012 where “Have a go, dip your toe” is our invitation for you all to join in and have five days of interest and fun.

This is the year when the whole country celebrates the Olympic and Paralympic Games being hosted in the United Kingdom and the community games are our contribution to those celebrations.

Community and service providers have worked together to design a programme that will appeal to a wide range of ages, tastes and abilities.  If you fancy having a go you can take part in the “Vale 2012” run, climb a rock tower or ride the raging rodeo bull.  If on the other hand your interest lies in the arts you can exhibit your drawings or paintings, photographs and craftwork in the exhibition at the Sanctuary. There is something for everyone whatever your ability and these are just a small sample of what is on offer.

So please get involved, try something that you have not done before and get your activity card signed off so that you can be entered in a prize draw worth £250 in vouchers. Show one and all that “You’ve had a go, you’ve dipped your toe” at the Castle Vale Community Games 2012.

About Us.

To celebrate the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games being held in the United Kingdom local communities nationwide have been invited to set up their own Community Games.

The Castle Vale Community Games takes place over five days from Tuesday July 31st 2012 to Saturday August 4th 2012.  On each day various activities will take place at one or more different venues in Castle Vale.  Use  the daily programme on www.castlevalegames.org.uk or www.facebook.com/castlevalegames  to find out what is going on and when it is going to take place.

To mark the opening of the Community Games the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is giving us a flypast with a Dakota aircraft on Tuesday July 31st (time to be notified) and we close on Saturday August 4th with an exciting Vale Fun Day in Centre Park and various activities at other venues round the Community Games Trail.

The opportunity to take part in a varied programme of events and activities may spark an interest and encourage people to develop that interest when the Community Games come to an end.  If that is so it is a bonus to the person concerned and achieves an aim of the Castle Vale Community Games.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Go on, “Have a go, dip your toe”
